Britain’s butter ration is to be reduced by 25 per cent, from September 9 The Food Ministry announced tonight that because supplies of butter from some overseas sources and from home production had been disappointing this season, it would be necessary temporarily to reduce the ration from 4oz, to 3oz a week.
