NEW ENGINE FOR CARS
DEVELOPMENT IN GERMANY (Rec. 11.30 p.m.) BERLIN, Aug. 30. Mr Siegfried Eurbenack, a German engineer, has developed a miniature 45 h.p. engine, which he believes will revolutionise car and light truck propulsion.
He claims that the engine, a combination between a turbine and petrol engine, saves 40 per cent, of the usual amount of fuel and requires only 40 per cent. Of the usual manufacturing materials.
The engine, of one litre capacity, is 15in long and 14in deep. It works without a carburettor and the speed is regulated by changing the compression. It uses either petrol or Diesel oil.
