TRAMWAY BOARD’S PROMISES
Sir.—Labour was recently successful at the poll in defeating the very carefully-planned scheme to modernise the tramways. Specious promises were made of doing things much better. All these promises have gone by the board and it is hard to say what their action will cost the tram users and ratepayers of Christchurch both in discomfort and by the largely increased price of materials now.— Yours, etc., SENEX. August 30, 1951.
