COCKTAIL PARTY
ST. MARGARET’S OLD GIRLS
The reception room at the Waldorf was transforined yesterday, when' the president and committee of St. Margaret’s College Old Girls' Association held a cocktail party, a social gathering at which members and their friends were pleasantly entertained. Big bowls of spring blossom and vases of mixed flowers lent a festive air to the room where the guests were welcomed by the president of the association (Mrs L. H. Garland) who had the help of her committee comprising Mrs E; M. Gibson. Mrs Eric Cleland, Miss Lila Gardner (vice-presidents), Misses Bettv and Joan Hatherley (secretaries), Miss Sandra Dowland (treasurer). Mesdames G. Rich, Arthur Benzie, E. C, Satchell, Norman Mor-ton-Smith, R. Steel, Misses Marlene Bell and Robyn Jenkin.
Specially invited guests were representatives of Nelson College and old girls’ associations of St. Hilda’s College. Columba, West Christchurch High School, Nelson Girls’ College, Avonside High School. Southland High School, Otago High School, Nga Tawa, Craighead, Selwyn House, Dominican Convent. Villa Maria, Timaru High School and Rangi-rurtf.
