WORKSHOPS BRASS BAND
SOLO COMPETITIONS AT ADDINGTON
The annual solo competitions held by the Addington Workshops Brass Band were decided in the social hall last evening. The judge was Mr W. Stephenson, and the accompanist Mrs B. Lockie. Prizes were presented by the assistant-manager of the workshops (Mr J. Morris). Results:—
A Grade (for the Foremen's and Subforemen’s Cup): H. E. Holmes. 82 points. 1; C. W. Ackland, 80, 2; A. H. Borland, 78.
B Grade (for the J. Mercer Cup): R. Sheppard, 80 points, 1; G. Marquit, 78, 2; D. Baird, 76, 3. Slow Melody (for the Trevor Watson Cup): A. H. Borland, 87 points, 1; H. E. Holmes, 80, 2; C. W. Ackland, 77, 3.
