MAGISTRATE’S COURT

WEDNESDAY (Before Mr Raymond Ferner, S.M.) PLACED RUBBISH ON ROAD For placing rubbish on a public road, Robert A. Foubister (Mr A. N. Mackay) was fined £2. Mr W. K. L. Dougall. for the Waimairi County Council, said that a man milking his cows after dark at 411 Hills road heard a noise at his gate, and on going to the road found an old copper and a stove in the drain beside the road. He taxed Foubister with putting the articles there, and Foubister later in the night removed them. If Foubister had not been caught putting the rubbisn there it would nave stayed there all night, said Mr Dougall. NO INCOME TAX RETURNS Ronald Creevey Denham, a printer, was convicted and fined £2 on each of three charges, and £5 on a fourth charge of failing to furnish returns of his Income for 1947, 1948, 1949, and 1950.

Michael Cullen Kearns was fined £3 on a similar charge of failing to furnish a return of his income for part of 1950. Mr P. T. Mahon appeared for the Commissioner of Taxes.
