R. Carrick (Auckland) made a brilliant break of 154 at to-day’s session of the Domlnic-n billiards tournament. Carrick, who is the present title-holder, averaged 14.6 points a cue. In the first match J. J. Shepherd (Auckland) beat J. Proctor (Southland) by 532 points to 470. Shepherd made breaks of 49 and 55.
Carrick quickly ran up a series of sizeable breaks in the second match against A. Albertson (Auckland), whom he had beaten for the Auckland amateur title last week. Carrick's winning total of 732 to Albertson’s 443 included breaks of 154, 60, 57, and 40. Albertson had breaks of 40, 46. and 46.
Clever play at the top of the table earned L. Stout (Wellington) a high-scor-ing victory by 667 points to 316 over G. V. Roberts (Auckland). Stout’s score included breaks of 47. 40, 42, 63, 43, 59, and 47. Two breaks of 49 and 40 vzere the features of Roberts's game.
