TONY TRABERT CALLED UP
(N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) (Rec. 8 p.m.) NEW YORK, Aug. 27. Tony Trabert, one of the most likely players to be selected for the United States Davis Cup team to go to Australia, was called up to-day for the Navy. Trabert, who became 21 on August 16. has shown more improvement than any other young American players in the last year.
OPAWA CLUB The Opawa Lawn Tennis Club held Its annual meeting recently. The following officers were elected: president. Mr G. D. Goodhart; executive committee. Messrs N. Baas. T Fenton, N. Franklin, M. Lockle. A. Neave. and Mrs E. Hendy; treasurer, Mr B Lee, secretary. Mr W. D. P.awlings. Opening day was fixed for Saturday. September 29.
