SITES FOR PUBLIC SCHOOLS
TITLE NOW VESTED IN CROWN (From Our Own Reporter) WELLINGTON, August 28. In a special Gazette issued to-night it is announced that the GovernorGeneral (Lord Freyberg), under section 5 of the Education Lands Act. 1949, has proclaimed an area of four acres situated in the Grey Survey District and an area of one acre in the Ashburton Survey District, both of which are vested in the Canterbury Education Board as sites for public schools, to be vested in His Majesty the King, freed and discharged from every educational trust affecting them but subject to all leases, encumbrances. liens, or easements.
