BRITISH ATOMIC ENERGY POST
NEW CONTROLLER LONDON, Aug. 26. Lieutenant-General Sir Frederick E. Morgan, aged 57, has been appointed Britain’s new controller of atomic energy. He will succeed Marshal of the Royal Air Force Lord Portal, the present Controller, on October 1. Lieutenant - General Morgan, as Deputy-Chief of Staff to the Supreme Commander, Allied Expeditionary Force, helped to plan the 1944 invasion of Europe. Later he became chief of UNRRA.
