WAIKATO MINE IDLE
{New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND. Au“ust 21. The State-owned Alison colliery, ohe of the largest underground mines bn I the Waikato coalfield, was idle to-day. ;The men held a union meeting which lasted until 10 o'cloqh and as it Was then too late to make a start they went home.
It is reported that th?v decided to break away from the Waikato Miners’ Central Committee, which was active dutinv the recent strike.
There are about 150 men at the Allson mine.
