LODGE SECRETARY APPOINTED
POST FOR MR H. R. PEERS
Mr H. R. Peers has been appointed to the position of district, secretary to the North Canterbury district, Manchester Unity, Independent Order of Oddfellows, and secretary of the Loyal City of Christchurch Lodge. He will succeed Mr R. G. Knowles, who has been appointed general secretary of the United Commercial Travellers’ Association.
Mr Peers, who is at present assistant milk officer in the Marketing Department in Christchurch, was formerly on the clerical staff of the Christchurch Drainage Board for 19 years. He is chairman of the Christchurch Civilian State Housing Allocation Committee, a member of the Christchurch West High School Board of Managers, and the Christchurch Post-Primary Schools’ Board of Governors and deputy-chair-man of the Wharenui School Committee. Mr Peers is also a Justice of the Peace.
