LONDON, July 3. In a thrilling finish, the Australian women won the second cricket test against England by two wickets and retained the ashes. , , , The tailender. Whiteman, helped Australia to snatch the win She came in when the score was seven for 124 and all the recognised batsmen were out. Of the remaining 36 runs scored she made 25. Australia in their second innings made eight for 160.
Casualties in Bangkok.— The abortive coup d'etat by the Siamese Navy on June 29 cost at least 12 dead and 286 wounded,— Bangkok, July 3.
