Grey District To Work To-day TERMS DISCUSSED WITH MANAGERS (New Zealand Pres* Association) GREYMOUTH, July 4. Arrangements were completed today for all Grey district State mines to work to-morrow for the first time in 18 weeks. Men on the dogwatch shift will begin at midnight to-night in the Liverpool, Strongman, Wallsend, and Dobson mines, and the first day shifts will start at all mines about 8 o’clock tomorrow morning. Buller miners, except those engaged on repair work, will not start work until Monday. The Grey miners’ union executives, met the mine managers to-day to discuss the Government’s six points for a resumption of work. After nearing the managers’ interpretations of tne points, Mr G. E. English, president of the Runanga Miners’ Union, the largest on the West Coast, said he thought there was "nothing to quibble about” in the points. Buller miners favoured starting on Monday, to give the watersiders ample time to consider the new situation. It has been officially stated by miners’ representatives that the Buller miners want the Westport watersiders to return to work on the same day as the miners. This is thought unlikely if the miners start on Monday. It is understood that watersiders’ delegates will not be able to discuss the situation with the national executive of the deregistered waterside Workers’ union in Wellington Until Tuesday.
