STRIKERS MEET AT AUCKLAND
CHANGE OF POLICY SOUGHT REQUEST TO NATIONAL COMMITTEE (New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND. July 24. Members of the Auckland branch of the former Waterside Workers’ Union to-day approved a resolution recommending the national strike committee to reconsider its policy. It is believed that the resolution was discussed for nearly t.wo hours before it was carried
by a large majority. The president (Mr A. Drennan) and the secretary (Mr R. E. Jones) denied a report that the question of a return to work was discussed at the meeting. They said that votes of confidence were given the national and local officers.
