BREAKDOWNS IN SOLDIERS
U.S. INQUIRY INTO CAUSES (Rec. 8 p.rn.) NEW YORK, July 3. The United States Army has introduced special training tor officers in the effort to reduce the incidence of mental and nervous collapse among American troops. The Army began a detailed study of the problem after World War 11, during which 640.000 United States servicemen became unfit for duty because of breakdowns. The Army is continuing the study, but the findings to date have been incorporated in a special training course for officers. The course includes a study of psychology, character comparison, and tne effect of geographical background on individuals.
