(Rec. 9 p.m.) MELBOURNE, April 16. The publicity manager ol Tasman Empire Airways, Ltd. (Mr Robert Allender) who, with the sales superintendent (Mr N. R. Searle), is in Me.bourne making final arrangements xor the new direct air s'?vhe between Melbourne and Christchurch, said to day that the starting time for the new service would be announced in New Zealand very soon. , , . , The fare had not been fixed, but it would be under £4O. At first, the service would be operated under charter by an Australian airline. Heavy winter sports traffic from Australia was expected.
