Sailing off scratch, Nark (W. Shenkel) won the first heat of the Christchurch Model Yacht Club’s No. 9 race, sailed in a light north-easterly wind, on Victoria Lake on Saturday. Results:— First Heat.—Nark (W. Shenkel), scr, 30min 18sec, 1; Peter (E. Jackson), Imin 56sec, 32min 56sec, 2; Phantom (R. Hutton), 2min lOsec, 34min 48sec, 3; Firefly (D. Fleming), 2min lOsec. 36min 48sec, 4; Alpha (L. Pugh), 7min 50sec, 42min Msec, 5. Second Heat—Peter, 30min 58sec. 1; Nark, 32min 4sec, 2; Phantom, 37min 48sec, 3; Firefly, 38min 28sec. 4; Alpha, 44m in Bsec. 5.
Points gained were:—Nark and Peter, 13 each, Phantom 6. Firefly’ 4, Alpha 2.
