GAS SUPPLIES AT WELLINGTON
“NO IMMEDIATE PROSPECT OF RATIONING” (New 7 Press Association) WELLINGTON. April 13. There was no immediate prospect qf gas rationinc in Wellington, said the chairman of the Wellington emergency supplies coinmittee (Mr R. L. Macalister) to-day. Nevertheless, the situa'tion was being, carefully watched. The gas output from the cpal available had been increased 20 per cent, by the production of water gas from a mixture of coke and oil. However, the heavier domestic use of coal with the advent of colder weather wpuld’ make the position more acute.
