CELEBRATION OF ANZAC DAY

MR CUTLER’S MESSAGE TO R.S.A. (New Zealand Preu Association) WELLINGTON, April 13. The High Commissioner' for Australia (Mr A. R. Cutler, V.C.) has sent the following message to branches of the Returned Services' Association throughout New Zealand: “Anzac Day again approaches and former servicemen and women from all services and all allied countries meet to remember thoae whtr gave their lives and to strengthen friendship with those who are still living. Also once again a party of Diggers and Kiwis are to take part in the Anzac Day celebrations in the different cities across the Tasman. "This interchange of visits between our two countries has become a wellestablished post-war feature in the commemoration of Anzac Day. It is a feature which appeals to all New Zealanders and Australians especially, as it gives us a unique opportunity of knowing one another personally and of reviving our many wartime associations. As it is impossible for this exchange of visits to be other than in small parties, and as I know that all Australian former servicerhen and women would like to convey to their New Zealand comrades in arms their best wishes, I am again taking this opportunity of wishing you well for the coming year anti expressing the hope on behalf of the Government of Australia and the Australian people, particularly the former servicemen and women, that your functions and commemorations on Anzac Day are highly successful. Also on their behalf I ask you to accept sympathy and grateful remembrance for the many New Zealanders who died in the wars of this century/’ N.Z.
