PAPANUI BEAUTIFYING ASSOCIATION
The presentation of prizes won in the Papanui Beautifying Association’s garden competitions was held in the Papanui Returned Services’ Hall recently.
The president (Mr H. Simpson) gave a brief history of the association, and said that next be the silver jubilee of the association. Papanui, with its proportionately large number of gardens of high standard, could justly claim to be the garden suburb of Christchurch. As the visit of the Royal Family would take place next year, coinciding with the silver jubilee, he appealed to the residents for even greater efforts for the oc.-asion, and asked them to maintain the pride of place of being the gaiden suburb.
