HORMONE FOR HAIR
U.S. Laboratory’s Claim (N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) (Rec. 10 p.m.) NEW YORK, April 9. A hormone which it was claimed had grown hair on two bald “guinea pigs” in five weeks, was offered to doctors to-day for tests. Mr Albert Roberts, president of a research laboratory, who announced the discovery of the hormone last month, said he had received about 10,000 inquiries, including about 800 from doctors. The hormone, which was in the form of a cream, was not for public sale, but it had been offered to doctors for research on condition they made the result available to the laboratory. Mr Roberts said the hormone was found while extracting acth pituitary hormone, which had no effect on hair.
