ROTTEN EGGS
Sir,—Despite protests from interested sources the gist of letters clearly indicates that the housewife, the final authority, is far from satisfied with her egg purchases. Personally, I believe that grocers and poultry farmers are not responsible; but a fairly wide experience of country life reveals that the finding of a nest by the small supplier or farmer’s wife with up to 15 eggs (mostly old) is not infrequent At present prices the supplier may be tempted dishonestly to dispose of them.—Yours, etc, EASTER EGG (ROTTEN). April 11, 1951.
