LAND SETTLEMENT
„ Sir,—The Minister’s reply to Mr Struth is no answer. Tne straightforward question was: When would the remainder of A grade men be given a chance to obtainproperties at a reasonable price? The Minister would have earned more respect by answering honestly. The National Pqrty promised assistance to sons of farmers and members of the Young Farmers' Clubs. This procedure would be excellent, providing it caused no unfairness. How is it .that ungraded men are getting settled ahead of the graded men? Mr Korrell, chairman of the Returned Services’ Association Land Committee, has put up a terrific fight for us, and his annual report is in direct conflict with the Minister’s reply. The Minister has the grace to admit that not all the men are graded. Mr Smith and many others want to know why not? We are being excluded because the loan limit is not like the M.P.’s salary—being raised.— Yours, etc., EX P. of W. April 11, 1951.
