MAGISTRATE’S COURT AT KAIKOURA
INTOXICATED DRIVER FINED
On a charge of being intoxicated while in charge of a motor-car at Kaikoura on March 22, Walter Henry Ford, a contractor, was fined £2O by Mr F. T. Reid, SM„ in the Magistrate’s Court at Kaikoura yesterday. Ford's driver’s licence was cancelled and he was disqualified from obtaining another for a period of three years, and thereafter only by leave of the Court
On Licensed Premises On a charge of being found unlawfully on licensed premises, Kevin Joseph Mackie, of Kaikoura, was - convicted and fined £l.
Liquor Near Dance Ball Thomas John Taylor, Raymond John Fissenden, - and William Forsyth, all ox Ward, were each convicted and fined £2 on charges of consuming liquor near a dance hall. Traffic Cases For cycling at night without lights. Nowell Huon Altaire Peach, James Roger Powell, Patrick Mackie, and Dennis Sweeney were convicted and fined £l. Edward Taylor was convicted and fined £1 and costs on a charge of permitting himself to be towed by a motor vehicle while he was riding a cycle. Hayden Hope, the driver of the motor-cycle, was convicted a-d fined £1 for aiding and a. etting Taylor. Ewen Leonard Weaver was convicted and fined £3 for exceeding the speed hmit for heavy trade motors. On similar charges, Leslie Thomas Cropp and John Henry Cornish were convicted and fined £2 and costs. Cecil Joseph Ward « as convicted and fined £3 on the same ■tiarge.
a-<. erland rnd Company were convicted and fined £3 on charges of exceeding the axle loading on the State highway at Cheviot and of exceeding the loading limitations set by the certificate of fitness of the vehicle.
