GREYMOUTH TOWNSHIP (MAORI RESERVE)
Sir,—A few weeks ago a property in Armagh street was sold for £70,000. The owner of this property is an absentee owner living in England. It property such as this could be sold as such, why it is that the Maori beneficiaries of Greymouth could not be treated as absentee owners? The rentals for Greymouth are low in comparison to its value. The only thing the Maori beneficiaries want is British justice. Let us hope that this is nqt justice. Let us feverently hope that this is not a thing of the past.—Yours, etc., WHAKAMARURANGI TAUWHARE. Lyttelton, April 10, 1951.
