SUGAR SHIP TO SAIL TO DAY
(New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, March 12. To meet the serious sugar shortage in the South Island the Union Company’s steamer Kairanga is expected to leave Auckland to-morrow for Lyttelton. The Kairanga, which was partly loaded when the strike began, has more than 600 tons of sugar for Lyttelton, Oamaru, and Dunedin. She was to have sailed this evening, but was held in port through the absence of a greaser.
