MEAT SOLD AT WELLINGTON
SUPPLIES SOON RUN OUT WELLINGTON, March 12. Meat was on sale at butchers’ shops in Wellington and the suburbs this morning, after week-end killing at the abattoirs by master butchers, but in most cases there was enough only for the early shoppers. For one suburban butchery it was the first time the doors had been open to customers since February 28. Today’s business at this and many other butcheries was short-lived. They were ready to shut the doors at 11 a.m.
