PURCHASE PRICE OF £26,000

At a price of $26,000, the freehold property of the Marine Hotel at Sumner has changed hands. The stock and furniture were additional, at valuation.

The vendor was Mr E. J. Smith, who, before taking over the hotel, was a prominent trotting trainer. He was last before the public as the trainerdriver of Happy who won seven races in succession in Perth, after he was sold.

The purchaser of the hotel was Mr A. J. R. Jbhnson, formerly a publican at Oxford, and the sale was made by P. S. Nicholls and Company. The hotel is a wooden building, with eight rooms for guests, opposite the Sumner Town-Hall. An unoccupied section is also on the same title.
