MAN ARRESTED BY POLICE
CHARGE OF THEFT FROM JEWELLER’S SHOP
Detectives at Greymouth have arrested a man and charged him with breaking and entering the premises of Rayner vile, Jewellers, Ltd., and committing theft. He will appear in the Magistrate’s Court at Greymouth today on the charge and the police will ask for a remand to Christchurch. The man arrested is Desmond Halliday, aged 35, a labourer. The premises tfere broken into between 5.45 p.m. and 6.45 p.m. on Tuesday, February 27, when jewellery, estimated to be worth about £650, was stolep. Most of the stolen jewellery has bean recovered by the police.
