SIR JAMES SHELLEY RETURNS

Sir James Shelley, who retired from the position of Director of Broadcaster'" in 1949 and went to live in England, has returned to the ■ Dominion for a few months. He reached Wellington to-dav in the Rangitiki. Sir James Shelley will visit his son, Mr Paul Shelley, who is electrical engineer to the Nelson City Council. since his retirement he has devoted much attention to research in Shakespearean and Elizabethan drama, but he has also found time to be of service to the Dominion by working “behind the scenes” at New Zealand House in London. He was one of a committee which arranged a special service at St. Paul’s Cathedral and other functions in London to mark the centennial celebrations of Canterbury. -
