MIDWAY WINS ST. LEGER

Carnage outpaced several of Australia's best horses to win the Newmarket Handicap at Flemington yesterday, and the victory was not a popular one after his poos' showing on the previous Saturday. Carnage did not look to be in the race half a mile from home, but he then commenced to move forward, quickly gathered up the leaders, and went on to win comfortably.
