SMALL PAY-OUTS AT LYTTELTON
Yesterday was pay day for the Lyttelton waterside workers, but the payout was much smaller than usual. With the exception of those who had been engaged at the steamer expresses and in discharging fruit from two ships, most of the men received pay for only two days with overtime and one day without. Those of the men who attended at Lyttelton yesterday morning held a short meeting at which they reaffirmed their decision not to work overtime until their wage claims had been satisfactorily settled.
