U.S. SENDS BILL TO RUSSIA
(Rec. 8 p.m.) WASHINGTON. November 7.
The United States has asked Russia again for prompt settlement of her lend-lease account arid has received ahother promise that the request will be considered. A State Department Note delivered in Moscow asked the Soviet Union to return 100 naval ships borrowed during the war. to pay six American firms for the use of patented processes, and to make a general settlement for other lend-lease goods. I FACTORY EXPLOSION KILLS THREE LONDON, November 7. Three men were killed, one is missing and 25 men and women workers were injured in an explosion to-day at a chemical factory on Bramble Island, 10 miles from Clacton, Essex. The injured were taken to hospital. A youth was wheeling a trolley of explosives when the explosion occurred. The blast shattered windows in Clacton and the police threw a cordon round the island.
