BRITISH INDUSTRY
RESPONSIBILITIES IN COMMONWEALTH (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, November 7. Industry in Britain has not only a responsibility in building up the econoipic side of the Commonwealth: it has an equally responsible task in contributing to its defence. This opinion was expressed by Sir George Nelson, chairman and managing director of the English Electric Group of Companies. who arrived in Wellington from Sydney by flying-boat to-day. Sir George Nelson said that this was his first visit to New Zealand, but he had not come for any specific business. He would, however, have discussions with the Government about electrification schemes, among which he thought the Main Trunk line would 'be considered.
