60,000,000 CHILDREN NEED HELP
(Rec. 8 p.m.) LONDON. November 6. In Europe 60,000,000 children are in need of help, mainly as a result of the war.
This statement is fiiade in a report issued by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation.
Experts of the .organisation recommend the utmost national and international effort to make up the physical and spiritual deficiencies of war-handx-capped children. The International Refugee Organisation told UNESCO that it estimated that 375,000 children were still entitled to its service five years after the war, but only 153,817 were actually receiving attention. It was also estimated that 13,000,030 or 14,000,000 displaced Germans not officially entitled to 1.R.0. care included about 3,500,000 children.
