PORT OF MOKPO IN U.N. HANDS
(Rec. 10 p.m.) TOKYO, Sept. 18. South Korean officials at Fusan announced to-day that Korean Republican Marines yesterday landed at and occupied the port of Mokpo, second largest city on the west coast of Korea.
The officials said that this action gave the South Koreans access to tne ripening harvest in the rice bowi region.
