The Melanesian Mission ship Southern Cross sailed from Auckland yesterday afternoon for the New Hebrides and the Solomon Islands. There were several passengers, including two clergymen. Yesterday morning a dismissal service was held in St Mary’s Cathedral, where the preacher was the Bishop of Auckland (the Rt. Rev. W. J. Simkin).
