TOURNEY FOR WESTENRA CUP Forty players took part in the annual golf tournament for the Westepra and Rutherford Cups, held on the Cheviot course. The tournament was open to . members of golf clubs between the Waipara and Ure rivers. M. Childs (Cheviot), 157, won the Westenra Cup for the best gross score over 36 holes. With a net score of 138 for the 36 holes, J. McL. Reid (Kaikoura) won the Rutherford Cup. The best scores were:— Westenra Cup.—M. Childs, 78, 79—157; F. P. Barker, 80, 86—166; C. L. Bary, 85, 83—168: J. McL. Reid, 85, 83—168. Rutherford Cup.—J. McL. Reid (handicap 15), 85, 83—138; O. D. Sewell (16), 88, 85—141; C. L. Bary (12) 85, 33—144; J. F. Wade (16). 91, 85—144. The senior morning and afternoon medal rounds were won by J. McL. Reid. The junior medal rounds were both won by O. D. Sewell. The teams’ match was won by Cheviot (R. G. Anderson, W. Martin, D. Morrison, and A. Mowat), with a total of 610. WAITIKIRI LADIES’ CLUB A Canadian foursome was played by members of the Waitikiri Ladies* Golf Club for Miss Ward's Challenge Cup. Results were:—Mrs G. W. Deyell and Miss T. Poole, 106, 32 —74; Mesdames H. Dymond and 1.-'Tankard, 90, 15—75; Mesdames J. Forbes and J. Eaton, 104, 27 77.
