U.S. NOTE TO MOSCOW
Soviet Asked To ' Use Influence WASHINGTON, June 27. The United States has appealed directly to Russia to use her influence to halt the Korean fighting. The United States also informed Russia of the steps being taken to preserve peace. Officials said that this action—which a State Department spokesman confirmed —indicated the State Department’s clear feeling that Moscow had power to halt the North Korean attack.
he Note also was regarded as a tacit warning to Russia against lending direct or indirect support to North Korea.
