REMOVAL OF SUBSIDIES
MR NASH SPEAKS AT DUNEDIN
(New Zealand Press Association) DUNEDIN, May 30. The Deputy-Leader of the Opposition (Mr W. Nash) w r as given an enthusiastic welcome and an attentive hearing when he spoke to an audience estimated about 2300 in the Dunedin Town Hall to-night.
Mr Nash dealt at length with the statements made by the Prime Minister (Mr Holland) since February, paying particular attention to the removal of subsidies and the floating of the £20,000,000 loan.
At the conclusion of the meeting a resolution protesting against the “attack on the living standards of the workers and social security beneficiaries” was carried by acclamation.
