RESIGNATIONS FROM POST OFFICE
MR BROADFOOT DISCOUNTS REPORTS
(New Zealand Press Association)
WELLINGTON, May 30. There was no suggestion of a “sinking ship” about the Post Office, said the Postmaster-General (Mr W. J. Broadfoot) to-day. He was commenting on recent Auckland reports that resignations in the department were heavy because of salary conditions. The Minister said it was true that over the first four months of this year, 49 more persons left the service than at the corresponding period last year, but it was also true that 181 more persons joined than left in the same four months.
