Consolation Prize for G.B.S.— The “New Statesman and Nation" recently offered a prize for an essay competition in which the entrants were to write the first 150 words of an account of "The Happiest Days of My Holidays.” imagining themselves to be Air Georee Bernard Shaw at 13 years of age. Among the entrants was Mr Shaw himself, but he did not win the prize He was. however, awarded half a guinea a« a consolation prize.—London, May 28.
