UNOFFICIAL RECORD BY H. GREEN From Our Own Reporter TIMARU, May 29. Driving his Wolseley Special. H. Green, of Christchurch, clocked 15.6 sec for the standing quarter-mile speed trial, which was held by the South Canterbury Car Club yesterday morning on the Pleasant Point highway. In recording this time. Green, it is thought, has ' established a new’ Australasian record, but it will be unofficial, as no stewards from the New Zealand Association of Car Clubs were present, and the event was run for members of the South Canterbury Club. Results:— S.S. Quarter-mile. —Class II: L. Collett (M.G.). 21.8 sec, 1. Class III: Mrs Lupp (S/M.G.), and P. Hoare (R.A. II),. 16.6 sec, equal. 2. Class IV: H. Green (Wolseley), 15.6 sec. 1; F. Sprague (Riley). 23.65ec, 2. Class V: R. Pettigrew (V 8 23.25ec, 1. Fastest Time for the Day.—H. Green, 15.6 sec. Flying Quarter-mile. —Class II: L. Collett (M.G.). 14.6 sec. 1.
