BRITISH HOUSE OF COMMONS
OPENING BY KING IN OCTOBER LONDON, May 25. Britain’s new House of Commons—built on the ruins of the old chamber destroyed by German bombs in 1941 —will be opened by His Majesty, the King, on October 26. The DeputyPrime Minister (Mr Herbert Morrison) told the House to-day that the Speaker would be sending' invitations to the opening to the Speakers and other presiding officers of the Lower Houses and Legislatures of Commonwealth anfl colonial countries.
