FIRE IN STOREROOM
TOW AND HESSIAN DESTROYED A number of bales of tow’, rolls of hessian, and flock mattresses were destroyed by a fire which broke out in I Smiths City Market yesterday afterI noon. The Christchurch Fire Brigade | received a call at 4.30 pm. to a smell i room at the back of the premises, near I the Dundas street entrance. The . fire I spread from the first room into the j main storeroom, but was soon brought 1 under control by the brigade.
