WAGE-FREEZING SUPPORTED
BRITISH T.U.C. ISSUES STATEMENT LONDON. May 24. The general council of the British Trades Union -Cingress, in a statement issued to-day, reaffirmed its support for the Government’s wage- re ezing policy. The decision was made in spite of demands for higher pay by 5.000.000 industrial workers. However, the T.U.C. statement warned that the wage-freezing policy might "impose an intolerable strain” on the wage-bargain-ing system if it were continued.
