HOSPITAL BUILDING PROGRAMME

PRIORITIES SET BY COMMITTEE

All the building proposals included in the North Canterbury Hospital Board’s loan and capital estimates for the new financial year have been reviewed by the board’s building committee, which yesterday recommended the following priorities:—(a) alterations to wards 1,2. and 3 at the Christchurch Hospital; (b) a new bath in the physiotherapy department, estimated to cost £800; (c) medical superintendent’s residence at Burwood Hospital, £3OOO estimated; (d) alterations to wards 5 and 6 of Burwood Hospital, estimated £1500; (e) stage two of the additions to the plastic surgical unit.

The committee’s recommendation, which was adopted, was that the work mentioned should be given immediate attention by the architect, with a view to having final plans ready as early as possible. Priorities would be reviewed month by month, the committee added.
