RACIAL PROBLEM IN AFRICA
GOVERNMENT’S PLAN FOR HARMONY SEPARATE AREAS FOR DIFFERENT RACES (N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) (Rec. 9.30 p.m.) CAPE TOWN; April 1. The South African Minister of the Interior (Dr. T. E. Donges) said last night that the only way to achieve racial harmony in the Union was to have separate areas for Europeans. Indians, and Africans.
The Government intended to introduce legislation to this effect, the Minister said. Under the legislation he wished fo introduce, Europeans, as wel|. as non-JSuropeans would have to give up certain rights of land ownership in the interests Qf the country.
