LYELL MURDER
POLICE INQUIRIES INTENSIFIED
AUTOPSY CARRIED OUT ON BODY
Dr. A. B. Pearson and Dr. C. T. B. Pearson, pathologists, completed yesterday at Christchurch the post-mortem examination on the body of Fritz Herman Nilsson, known as Frederick Neilsen, which was found in a hut at Lyell on Friday afternoon and which nad been brought to Christchurch at the week-end.
A large body of police, which includes Detective-Sergeant G. W. Alty and Detective N. W. Wylie, of Christchurch. is still carrying out intensive investigations at Lyell. Sergeant J. B. Keartcn. official police photographer, returned to Christchurch from Lyell at the week-end. “Progress is being made with our investigations. The police party is working hard and we are not on the defensive,” said Inspector M. J. Angland questioned in Nelson last nisht on the police investigations into the murder of Nilsson.
Important inquiries were still being made, he said, but there were no new developments. The pathologists’ report is not yet available, he said.
